Rising from My Death Bed

In honor of Halloween, I've risen from my death bed. I've been a little ill, but am thankfully on the mend. Thank you, honey, for holding down the fort while I was out of commission. In this loving fashion, he also took these flattering pictures of me so he could show off how hot I am, even when I'm sick.

This Pirate's Got Rhythm!

We had a little Halloween Party on Friday night and a good time was had by all. As you can see fromt he video, Bowen has learned a lot of great dance moves from me, or maybe he learned them directly from Napoleon? We all had a great time eating witches brew, witches stew and witches fingers. Guessing Hal O. Ween's body parts was also fun. The kids were wild but had a good time. P.S. I don't know if it's possible, but I'm starting to feel "all partied out."

Vlad Tire aka Brian. We had a little Murder Mystery Party the other night, and it was a ton of fun. Here are a few pics of everyone and my spooky dining room. The food was to DIE for, and the company was equally as scary. Thanks to all for the good time, and we hope everyone had as good of a time as we did!

Jason played his part well, and RuthAnn really pulled off the desert. It was divine!

Jenn was the life of the party 'cause she's so stinkin funny! Linc may have to work on his butler skills, though.

I was supposed to be a paranormal investigator and Justin a vampire hunter (yes, that's a picture of Buffy on his shirt!). I always knew he had a thing for Buffy!

I think we can all agree that Steve plays a much better movie vampire than Jack Ular, and if it wasn't for that meddling kid, Laura, we never would have figured out the mystery!

Like a Good Mormon Girl

I certainly do not purport to be Mrs. Perfect. In fact, I am so imperfect that in our nine year marriage, I have never really had any so-called "food storage." Well, current economic conditions and Justin telling me he has a feeling we should get some food storage finally prompted me to get a start on things. So, like a good mormon girl, I went to Maceys case-lot sale and picked up a few things. It's not much, but it's something. It is good to know that in a crisis, we would be able to wipe out bottoms, eat ketchup and salt for dinner, and powdered suger for desert!

Blood, Sweat and Tears

Okay, maybe not tears, but there was some blood and a lot of sweat. I thought I would show off Justin's labors in the yard. He has been grading and doing rock work to get the landscaping in the front yard prepared for sprinklers and sod in the spring (hopefully!), and it has been a lot of work. He has quite the knack for landscaping and does a really good job. Thank you Jared, JM and Dad for the help!

A Good Weekend

I wanted to share these beautiful pics Justin took this morning. We have a good view of the temple and mountains from our deck. Well, conference is over and I feel like I missed a lot. I'm always a little sad when it ends, like I didn't get all I could have out of it. On the other hand, I do feel uplifted and encouraged. Lately, I have felt very weighed down with trials in my personal life as well as the things that are going on in our country at this time. I feel more at peace and know that things are going to be okay. I think I need to try to have more faith in the Lord and remind myself of the eternal perspective. I just have such a long way to go. As I always say, life is hard. It is good to know I always have a friend in Christ and a loving Heavenly Father who really knows and understands me.
